CONFLUENCE FARM

WildNet Africa No. WNET0286

River

Confluence Farm is an exceptionally beautiful 52 hectare property with over a kilometre of river frontage situated at the confluence of the Jukskei and Crocodile Rivers. The property is bisected by a series of well-treed koppies (hills) which terminate in cliffs overlooking the two rivers. Centrally located within the Rhenosterspruit Nature Reserve, the farm is ideal for syndicated ownership.

LOCATION:
The farm is within easy reach of Johannesburg - situated 5km due north of Lanseria airport and 30 to 40 minutes' drive from Johannesburg or Sandton.

GAME:
The farm is game fenced (enclosing two portions of the original farm) and currently stocked with black wildebeest and ostriches.

ACCOMMODATION AND INFRASTRUCTURE:
Three houses plus cottages have been built on sites selected to maximise the privacy of residents.
Traditional farmhouse
House 1: This residence was modelled on a traditional
"Transvaal" farmhouse.

House 1:
Situated between two koppies with a panoramic view of Rhenosterkop and the Rhenosterspruit Nature Reserve. This red-bricked, green-roofed house is modelled on a traditional "Transvaal" farmhouse. It has a large double-volume living/dining/kitchen area and a veranda on three sides, three bedrooms and two bathrooms. The site has a large variety of indigenous trees and adjoins an original iron-age site.

House 2:
Situated amongst huge combretum trees on the banks of the Crocodile River, this "establishment" comprises a large double-storey thatch house with huge airy rooms, two bedrooms (both en-suite), drawing room, dining room, kitchen and upstairs and downstairs verandas.

Thathc house
House 2: double-storey thatch.

Cottages:
Three additional cottages provide guest/family accommodation and are suitable for a bed and breakfast/small guest house (listed in 1994 Portfolio of Places).

  • Cottage 1: one bedroom, sitting room / dining room, bathroom with shower, small upstairs attic bedroom, small kitchen, porch and walled surround. Can be used for bed and breakfast accommodation.
  • Cottage 2: Has been used as a laundry and workshop. It also has an upstairs loft. Could be turned into a second B&B cottage.
  • Cottage 3: Big upstairs bedroom with lavatory and basin. This leads onto a large covered veranda. Downstairs is about 60 per cent complete and is planned to have a sitting room, small kitchen, bedroom and bathroom.

House 3:
Situated in a grove of large olive trees overlooking the Crocodile River, this is a small, very private weekend cottage with stone walls, fireplace, thatch roof, single bedroom (sleeping platform for children), bathroom and kitchen/living room.

Other features include:

  • a barn with four stables, workroom and staff accommodation
  • a borehole
  • two dams
  • a traditionally painted Ndebele kraal
  • CC owned (no transfer fees)

Undoubtedly the most beautiful property in the area!

SALE PRICE:
